This is a quick clip on a very basic principle: “Get Your Hands Up.” There is a natural response to something harmful coming at you and that is to get your hands up to protect yourself. This natural response has been since things have been flying at our heads, it was taught and utilized by Moshe Feldenkrais in the 1930’s and when he taught the Home Guard and Combatants in WWII and it currently a major focus of the popular SPEAR system created by Tony Blauer. Getting your hands up brings weapons into play and often creates opportunities by this simple action. This is my take on how to use this basic principle even when not startled.
